After a ruling by a Federal District Court Judge that punished Big Tobacco; after we find they are still trying to regulate nicotine content to keep us hooked; we discover that they need clarification of the court's order to ask if they are compelled to comply overseas!

The USA Today reported:
"Sadly, the public doesn't know what the industry is doing with nicotine or any ingredient. Thanks to industry lobbying and campaign contributions, there is no meaningful regulation. Never mind that tobacco kills 400,000 Americans a year. Until Congress gets serious about regulating cigarettes, Big Tobacco will have the last word."

In just weeks, Big Tobacco has been hit with a scathing opinion from the Honorable Judge Gladys Kessler; after only two weeks they asked the Judge if they had to comply with her orders overseas; and soon after we find that Big Tobacco is back to tinkering with nicotine levels in cigarettes in an effort to make them that more craved by their addicted, unsuspecting customers.

It is amazing that an industry that has acted for decades to first addict and, then, to keep addicted millions of people to a drug some say is more difficult to quit than heroin;all with little consequences so far. In the scheme of things, Big Tobacco has profitted quite nicely and the downside has been at least palatable for them. That may change in the future. Perhaps the plaintiffs in future litigation will know more than Big Tobacco might suspect!
